Why does YunoJuno need a new ratings system?

From speaking to our network of both clients and freelancers, we have learned that the previous YunoJuno Ratings system did not provide enough detail for either party.

The purpose of this new rating system is to help provide hirers with greater confidence that a given freelancer is the right choice for their project, and to give a chance to both parties to provide constructive feedback by allowing for both private and public comments.

Greater client confidence in our platform will result in more projects being offered on our platform.

How will the new star rating system work?

After a booking is completed, clients and freelancers will be able to rate the experience of working together on a scale from 1 to 5 stars, with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. Both parties are encouraged to provide a detailed review to explain their rating, offering constructive feedback.

How will the new ratings system work with the existing ‘Positive Bookings’ system?

Any existing "positive bookings" a freelancer has already collected will be converted into a 5-star rating. So, for example, if a freelancer currently has "43 Positive Bookings" showing on their profile, this will be converted to a 5-star overall rating from 43 reviews.

Any new reviews after August 29th will then be factored into this new overall rating.

Where will the ratings be shown?

Ratings of freelancers will be shown on their profile, along with any selected highlights or comments.

Freelancer ratings of clients are shared directly with the business in question, but are not visible to other freelancers within the platform.

Will I be able to choose whether to show or hide a public comment left under the new system?

No. Any comments left with a rating will be displayed on a freelancer’s profile, so as to make the system as transparent as possible.

All reviews and comments will be moderated by YunoJuno against our acceptable usage policy before display.

Will ratings be moderated before being published?

Yes, all comments submitted with ratings are moderated by YunoJuno staff to check that they don’t break our guidelines, i.e. they are not inappropriate or offensive in any way.

What should I do if I believe a review is unfair?

If you believe a comment submitted by a client does not meet our moderation guidelines, please contact the Platform Success team at hello@yunojuno.com or via live chat.

Please note that, given the subjective nature of any ratings system, the only cases where a review will be removed is if the review contains inappropriate comments, or can be proven to be demonstrably false through supporting evidence.

95.5% of the existing ratings we have on the YunoJuno platform are positive, so this will be an extremely rare occurrence.

Why won't ratings of clients be published?

A client is often made up of different hiring managers, so a freelancer could get a very different experience of working with the same client, thereby making the reviews less relevant.

However, YunoJuno will be reviewing all ratings and associated comments that are submitted about clients by freelancers. The captured ratings and comments will be aggregated and anonymised, before being shared with the client in question.
