1. What is changing from 6 April 2026?
From 6 April 2026, the UK Government will introduce new legislation which implements new Joint and Several Liability (JSL) rules for the contingent labour supply chain.
These rules mean that YunoJuno has a continuing responsibility to ensure that PAYE and National Insurance Contributions are correctly paid by umbrella companies.
2. Why are these changes being introduced?
The new legislation aims to:
Strengthen compliance across the freelancer supply chain
Close tax-avoidance loopholes
Better protect workers’ statutory rights
3. How does this affect me?
YunoJuno is reviewing and simplifying the list of umbrella companies available on the platform.
If your current umbrella company is not included in the updated list of approved umbrellas for any new contracts you will need to select an umbrella that is included in YunoJuno’s preferred supplier list.
4. What is YunoJuno's Preferred Supplier List?
YunoJuno has reviewed and simplified the list of umbrella companies available on the platform to:
Giant Umbrella
Parasol Umbrella
PayStream Umbrella
If your current umbrella company is not included in the updated preferred supplier list and there is a reasonable requirement please get in touch with hello@yunojuno.com
