Onboarding

What does it mean to be W-2?

W–2 status means that you are an employee of YunoJuno (acting as your Employer of Record) for the duration of your assignment(s).

As your employer, YunoJuno will withhold federal and state taxes from your paychecks so you don’t face a large tax bill at the end of the year. We will provide all necessary tax forms (such as your W-2) via our online platform when tax season arrives.

You may also qualify for employee benefits, subject to eligibility.

What are the employee onboarding steps?

To onboard, you will complete the following steps:

  1. Provide bank details for payroll

  2. Provide the data required for Equal Employment Opportunity Commission reporting

  3. Review and agree to the Employee Handbook and Employment Agreement

  4. Verify your identity and right-to-work in the US via the Employment Eligibility (I-9) process (YunoJuno is an E-Verify employer)

  5. Provide your tax withholding forms

How do I complete my I-9 verification?

The I-9 verification establishes your identity and right to work in the US, and must be completed within 3 business days of your start date.

  1. Complete and sign Section 1 of the digital I-9 form in the YunoJuno platform on or before your first day

  2. Schedule a video verification call via Calendly with an authorised YunoJuno representative

  3. Present your original, unexpired documentation during the video call — either one document from List A (e.g. a US Passport), or two documents from Lists B and C

What does my exemption status mean?

Your Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) exemption status determines whether you are eligible for overtime pay.

  • Non-Exempt — You are paid by the hour. You must carefully log your daily hours, take required breaks, and are eligible to be paid at least 1.5x your regular rate for any overtime hours worked

  • Exempt — You are paid a consistent salary regardless of the hours you work, and are not eligible for overtime pay

Timesheets & Pay

How do I submit my timesheet?

You must submit your timesheet no later than Monday at 12:00 PM Eastern Time for the previous week.

Hourly workers

  • Record your exact hours worked each day

  • If you work more than 8 hours in a day, the system will flag the extra time for overtime calculations after the timesheet is approved

  • Do not add hours to a different day to "catch up" missed days

Weekly salaried workers

  • You do not need to submit timesheets for hours worked — YunoJuno will submit them on your behalf to account for your standard 40-hour workweek

  • You must record any unpaid time off or absences

What is the weekly payroll cycle?

Monday

  • (12:00 PM ET) Deadline to submit your timesheet for the previous week's work

Tuesday

  • (10:00 AM ET) Deadline for hirers to approve submitted timesheets. Unapproved timesheets are automatically approved

Friday

  • Payment is made by direct deposit to your designated bank account

What happens if I forgot to submit my timesheet?

You and the hirer will receive several email reminders of increasing urgency. If you do not submit your timesheet by Monday, the YunoJuno team will attempt to contact you and the hirer directly to confirm the hours worked.

How is overtime calculated?

If you are classified as non-exempt under the FLSA, overtime is calculated in accordance with the applicable federal or state regulation.

How do I submit an expense?

To submit an expense, log into the platform, click the link under your timesheet to add an expense, then enter the description, amount, and date, and upload a copy of your receipt.

How do I access my pay stubs?

Pay stubs are uploaded weekly to the Payments tab of your profile.

How do I view my tax deductions?

Tax deductions are detailed on your pay stub.

Time Off & Holidays

What paid holidays does YunoJuno observe?

YunoJuno observes the following federal holidays:

  • New Year's Day

  • Memorial Day

  • Independence Day

  • Labor Day

  • Thanksgiving Day

  • Christmas Day

Please note: This may vary by state. You may be entitled to observe additional holidays or specific paid leave depending on the state in which you work.

Do I get Paid Time Off (PTO)?

YunoJuno does not generally provide PTO unless this is outlined in your Assigned Client Agreement.

How does sick leave work?

Sick leave is provided and accrues at a rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked. Please note this varies by state.

Benefits

How do I access my 401(k) and health insurance options?

Eligible workers can opt into YunoJuno's health insurance scheme and 401(k) retirement plan. Information about these benefits will be provided during onboarding in the Benefits section of your contract review.

General

What should I expect for my final paycheck when my assignment ends?

This varies by state. Some states require your final paycheck to be issued on your last day of work; others permit payment on the next regularly scheduled payday.

Why must I inform YunoJuno if I change the state I'm working from?

Employment laws, labor protections, and tax withholdings are all calculated based on the physical state and locality where you perform your work. YunoJuno currently only supports fully on-site or fully remote workers.

If you change states, YunoJuno must update your contract and tax withholding forms to ensure you are taxed correctly and remain compliant with state laws. Please email hello@yunojuno.com to notify us of any change.

I moved address — what do I need to do?

Notify YunoJuno via email at hello@yunojuno.com. If you have moved to a different state, please see the question above.

How can I update my bank account details?

Please see our How to update bank details article.
